The tiny fingers wrapped around yours. The sleepy stretches. The way they fit perfectly against your chest. The quiet moments between feeds and cuddles. And the way becoming their parents has changed everything.
These are the moments I want you to remember-not just how your baby looked, but how this season felt.
Your newborn session is planned your family, with a relaxed, baby-led approach that allows plenty of time for feeding, soothing, cuddling, and simply being together. There is no need to rush or worry about whether your baby is "cooperating."
This is your beginning. It is begging to be remembered and honored with every ounce of you.

From our first conversation to the moment you hold your finished artwork in your hands, every part of our newborn experience is thoughtfully planned around you and your family.
01- Before Your Session
We'll begin with a personal consultation to talk about your family, your vision, and what you want to remember about this season. We'll plan the details together so you can arrive feeling prepared and relaxed.
02- Your Newborn Session
Your session is intentionally paced around your baby. There is plenty of time for feeding, soothing, cuddling, and breaks, allowing us to capture both the beautiful portraits and the genuine connections that make your family yours.
03- After Your Session
Once your images are ready, we'll meet for a private viewing and ordering appointment via Zoom or in person at the studio. Together, we'll choose the photographs and artwork that deserve a place in your home and become part of your family's story.

Newborn Sessions can take place in my gorgeous studio in Kalama, Washington, where natural light, beautiful river views, and a thoughtfully designed space create a calm and elevated setting for your family.
Prefer the comfort of your own home? I also offer in-home newborn sessions in the greater Portland area, allowing us to document these first days in a place where your family is settling into life together.
Whether we're in studio or at home, the focus remains the same: capturing the connection, details, and quiet moments that make this season uniquely yours.
baby led experience
a relaxed approach
There is no perfect baby and no perfect schedule for a newborn session.
Your baby sets the pace. We allow plenty of time for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, cuddling, and settling in between photographs. If your little one needs to be held, fed, or simply take a break, we pause.
Some of the most meaningful images happen in those unscripted moments-the way you comfort your baby, the sleepy expressions, the tiny stretches, and the connection that happens naturally when you slow down together.
You don't need to arrive with a perfectly sleepy baby. Just bring your baby and let me take care of the rest.
She has the magic touch with babies & was able to calm our colicky baby & get the most amazing photos, & everything just felt so natural and relaxing.
do parents and siblings participate in the newborn session?
Absolutely! Parents and sibling portraits are an important part of the newborn experience, and you will receive guidance during the session
Newborn sessions are best done between 2-4 weeks. It's best to reserve your session in advance during your pregnancy since I only take a handful of newborn sessions per month. This helps me to be flexible for my clients. Your due date is used to tentatively schedule the session as a placeholder initially, with the final date adjusted once baby arrives
when should i schedule my newborn session?
do you provide newborn outfits?
Yes! I have lots of hand knit newborn outfits, bonetts, headbands and props for clients to utilize
what happens if my baby won't sleep?
15+ years experience posing women and babies + fully custom photo session tailored to capturing this version of you.....a version you never get back
where is the studio located?
That is completely normal. Newborn sessions are baby-led, with time built in to accomodate more alert newborns. Your newborn does not need to sleep the entire session. I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to ensure we get plenty of variety and some sleepy shots
what makes sweet beginnings different?
The studio is located in Kalama about 25 min from Vancouver, WA. Situated on a hill overlooking the Columbia River
