What better way to kick off photo sessions in the PNW than a family session overlooking The Columbia Gorge set amongst the wildflowers? Fellow photographer and friend of mine Christie Bauer (Christie Bauer Photography) asked me to capture her beautiful family and I was more than honored + excited to document them. When we arrived at this location it absolutely took my breath away. It is one of the most magical locations my eyes have ever seen! I’m not kidding at all or embellishing one bit when I say it looked like a page out of a storybook!
The wildflowers were in full bloom and painted the most magical canvas for our session together. Let’s talk about the styling for the session! Christie rally nailed it with the options she pulled. She wore a turquoise blue dress by Spell Designs. Her oldest wore a simple off the shoulder piece in a clay color from Free People to add some depth and coordinate with floral design on the Spell dress with Christie. Her other daughter was in a muted pink slightly creamy dress that added the perfect amount of detail and texture. Her husband and son brought in the warmth and neutrals with trousers, blazer and suspenders. When it comes to styling I always recommend either playing with textures and keeping things neutral, mixing neutrals with browns and/or throwing one subject in a pattern to mix things up. This family ensemble really incorporated it all!
